If you read about Gov Palin's rise to power you see that she latches onto a powerful mentor, then when she is in the position she wants, she turns on them and steps over them. With all this discussion about her being critical of McCain, is she doing it again? It's like she gets the date to the dance with a football hero and then tries to leave the dance as the football hero.

This is everyday life...believe it or not! People in general latch on to someone they think will rescue them, kinda like Obama being the messiah!
When the party is over, they'll all be screaming and blaming the government once again.

I don't see how this relates to the OP at all. We are discussing Palin's history of using a mentor to attain a position of power and then turning on them once she gets there.

Not what is being discussed Erma. She seeks powerful mentors, gets them to help get in a position of power, then uses that power to squash the mentor. It is a brilliant, albeit ruthless, strategy.

Even though this has nothing to do with the OP, I'd like to point out that the Obama "messiah" thing is an entirely Republican pejorative. You all made it up, you're the only people who use it and say it. It only exists in your heads.

I think it's so creepy that she does this to McCain, but didnt seem to have a problem with him coming on as Protector Daddy in those interviews.
