He said that if Obama keeps the Bush Tax cuts, cuts taxes more, and acts like a 2nd Reagan - he will support him - otherwise he wants him to fail. His definition is socialism is anything less conservative than Ronald Reagan... or worse... what a JOKE!!!

You're just parsing words in an attempt to defend the indefensible...

Here's a link of your fat piece-of-crap demigod fearless leader ranting at CPAC hoping Obama fails - weeks after the controversy first broke:
YouTube - "I Do Want Obama to Fail" - Rush Limbaugh 02/28/09 at CPAC

Here's a different slant on the situation that I am POSITIVE you will reject out-of-hand - but it's worth a shot:
YouTube - The Daily Left - Limbaugh Repeats Wish That Obama Fails

He's become obsessed with his own power - and has now become the poster-boy for the GOP - totally regressive, totally non-inclusive, totally un-American, totally un-Patriotic...

There are hundreds of clips of Rush and Sean inciting hatred - I can start posting some if you want - if you're too lazy to find them for yourself!!!

Nice try - but you'll have to do better!!
Nice try, but you will have to do better. It probably would help if you wouldn't be so partisan and so full of HATE as you are.

I used to watch Fox to see what the conservatives were thinking, that is, until I realized people like Hannity do their best to attract the extreme right, hardcore wing-nuts.

As far as Limbaugh goes, I don't know why he's so popular. In fact, knowing how many people tune into him everyday frightens me. I mean, if you are a conservative, aren't you supposed to believe in strong family values? AFAIK he's been married at least 3 times and he's been addicted to drugs. He also owns a home that's larger than many hotels and valued at about $25 million (give or take a million..hey times are tough here in Florida!) In 2001 he signed a contract for $297 million and has other income from books, speaking engagements, etc. So that means he makes at least $50 million a year. Most of us won't see that much money in a lifetime. Then he gets on the air and tells working people who make $49,950,000 less to protest against the tax cuts for the rich. It's mind boggling that more people don't see right through him.
You had a fair post up until the Rush bash. He is private sector. He earns what his employers feel he is worth. In other words he delivers what they ask of him and more. How big his house is or what it is worth is his business. Do you also have a problem with Gores house? The difference being that Gore would have us all make a huge sacrifice while he enjoys the life style of the extreme. Rush on the other hand does not preach the evils of consumption. So who is the bigger hypocrite?
As far as spreading hate. Rush and Hannity are mild compared to Savage. They are mild compared to many of our elected officials. Talk show hosts unlike our elected officials don't have the power to write policy. Pelosi, reed, Franks,Dodd all do and have. We are unamerican if we enforce our immigration laws? Still have not heard why. These elitists preach hate every day they speak on the floor. Class warfare is their stock in trade.
By the way I am no fan of Rush, Hannity or Savage. They are showmen nothing more. The evil ones are the elected officials who feel that the lobbyists are more important than taking care of and protecting america.

I agree that lobbyists are the worst thing to happen to government since the founding of our country...

But your exclusive protest against Democrats only deflates your argument...

You conveniently ignore that New Gingrich put in place the Pay-To-Play philosophy when he became Speaker of the House - wherein lobbyists had to contribute to the RNC in order to be heard at all - it was the beginning of selling influence to the highest bidder...

It got even worse under Delay and Bush...

At least Obama is talking about reigning it in - which will be hard.. He's going to have to ram lobbyist reform down the throats of a kicking and screaming Congress - Democratic or Republican led makes no difference - they will fight it tooth and nail.

The Republicans NEVER even gave it lip service..

Only about 20-40 million a week.

You'd just love to put an end to that, wouldn't you?

Lets see....

What do you think of all those talk show hosts who slammed President Bush while he was in office for 8 years? Oh, its OOOOOKKKKK for THAT to happen, eh? Then, its perfectly fair for Obama to get his share of controversy with the Republican viewpoint being brought out and shown why Obama is failing us Americans.

Sorry, but you had your time slamming President Bush, and now its our turn to slam this President for the apologies that he has been spreading around the World, because us "evil" americans are no better than trash and just dont understand that we should bow down to everyone who decides to come to America as they are all better than us...YEAAAA RIGHT! Go stuff it in your girlie clothes and do what you want, because the Republicans are going to stand up for America whether you wimpy Democrats like it or not!

May the LORD Bless each of you...

I wish you well...

Jesse

Let's see - you rip Democrats a new one in a very distorted and completely biased diatribe - and then ask that the Lord bless them.... hmmmmm.... very interesting.....

I guess that's like the religious whack-jobs that are all Pro-Life and vehemently against abortion, and then as soon as the child is born, they want to punish the infants of women in poverty by denying them any welfare benefits... you know - we love you while you're in the womb - but once you're out - don't you DARE ask for one red cent of support from ME - just go away and starve to death - PRAISE THE LORD!!!

Rush clearly proclaimed that he hoped that Obama failed....

Those who don't understand what Rush said have a comprehension problem.
Rush's statement has been patiently explained here too many times already.

he clearly said that Obama was a racist for nailing the 3 Somalai pirates..

As I said, there's a comprehension problem. And, not only that, you don't understand satire and sarcasm. Rush must be above your paygrade, even with one hand tied behind his back. Learn to read between the lines.

It's not called PARSING, it's called reading or listening IN CONTEXT. What follow is the EXACT TRANSCRIPT of his controversial statement. When you read it, you will see that he says he wants President Obama's Lineral agenda & plans to fail. He does not want America to become more liberal, and he knows that President Obama has a very liberal agenda. Therefore, he wants President Obama to fail. As you acknowledged, if President Obama put in place an agenda that matched what he feels is good for America, he would hope for it's success. After reading this, see if you can honestly say that it's about anything other than policy.

http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/spc.gif (broken link)RUSH: I got a request here from a major American print publication. "Dear Rush: For the Obama [Immaculate] Inauguration we are asking a handful of very prominent politicians, statesmen, scholars, businessmen, commentators, and economists to write 400 words on their hope for the Obama presidency. We would love to include you. If you could send us 400 words on your hope for the Obama presidency, we need it by Monday night, that would be ideal." Now, we're caught in this trap again. The premise is, what is your "hope." My hope, and please understand me when I say this. I disagree fervently with the people on our side of the aisle who have caved and who say, "Well, I hope he succeeds. We've got to give him a chance." Why? They didn't give Bush a chance in 2000. Before he was inaugurated the search-and-destroy mission had begun. I'm not talking about search-and-destroy, but I've been listening to Barack Obama for a year-and-a-half. I know what his politics are. I know what his plans are, as he has stated them. I don't want them to succeed.

If I wanted Obama to succeed, I'd be happy the Republicans have laid down. And I would be encouraging Republicans to lay down and support him. Look, what he's talking about is the absorption of as much of the private sector by the US government as possible, from the banking business, to the mortgage industry, the automobile business, to health care. I do not want the government in charge of all of these things. I don't want this to work. So I'm thinking of replying to the guy, "Okay, I'll send you a response, but I don't need 400 words, I need four: I hope he fails." (interruption) What are you laughing at? See, here's the point. Everybody thinks it's outrageous to say. Look, even my staff, "Oh, you can't do that." Why not? Why is it any different, what's new, what is unfair about my saying I hope liberalism fails? Liberalism is our problem. Liberalism is what's gotten us dangerously close to the precipice here. Why do I want more of it? I don't care what the Drive-By story is. I would be honored if the Drive-By Media headlined me all day long: "Limbaugh: I Hope Obama Fails." Somebody's gotta say it.

As to your two clips; thanks. The first does nothing but show Rush explaing what it is about President Obama's agenda that he dislikes, how it will hurt America, and why he hopes that agenda will fail. The second, a lefty video blogger thinks the same thing you think. OOOh wow. There's a revelation that should send conservatives to hide in the root cellars.

So sorry dude - but the country views Limbaugh and his GOP followers as clearly wanting Obama to fail - that is the way most have interpreted his comments in the videos I posted - and I agree with them - and I watched the video...

Use the 'taken out of context' excuse all you want - it is a joke.

Limbaugh wants Obama to fail - period...

Limbaugh is your standard bearer - you and the GOP are going to pay a tremendous price at the polls for that - period.

Have a nice day!!!
