Why are you "optimistic" that he has something to hide? That sounds strange, if you don't mind my saying so.
Nope don't mind. I am cautiously optimistic about his presidency as any citizen should be of any newly elected leader whether it be Bush or Obama. Do you really know what's going on in Washington? Unfortunately it's not that transparent.
I likewise believe Obama to be an eloquent young man, born in Hawaii, but am cautiously optimistic, that he might have something to hide. Race or birth right may be an issue to some, but I believe most people are logical to understand that it's merit that counts and not a piece of paper or something you can't change - skin color, well unless your Michael Jackson. The problem is background is very complex, some find it intriguing. Others notice that there are missing pieces and pieces that just don't line up. What he may be trying to hide I don't think it's his birthright, that is a simple matter one superficial piece of paper will provide, rather something bigger than that ... something we may have to wait til 2012 to find out, when someone powerful enough challenges him after Obama's approval rating starts to slide, due to his inability to rescue the economy in 4 years. Which as we know is not his fault, but well it's politics.
There is no doubt he has something to hide. Otherwise he would be forthcoming with documents to prove his eligibility so there is no question in anyone's mind he has the right to be POTUS. Some people here have taken the stand that Obama is just letting the growing number of people that question his eligibility status hang themselves. That's a pretty stupid idea when he should be wanting everyone to join him. He's a man with a clouded past and he is unwilling to reveal records that anyone else would gladly and very proudly reveal, e.g. his Columbia University, Harvard Law School and Law Review records to name just a few. This makes absolutely no sense whatsoever for someone that wants everyone behind him at a time when so much needs to be done in our country. He's hiding something he does NOT want people to know about him...and it goes far deeper than stuff like his association with Bill Ayers or Rev. Wright.

Do you want to see Joe Biden's transcripts from Syracuse and the University of Delaware? Good grief! And don't go saying, "that's different". What's different? They're not black?

And if he is - one way or the other the truth will come out on Obama. I would rather find out before he is sworn in as president instead of afterwards. Because if it is afterwards this country will face a total and complete mess because every single bill that he signed would need to be reversed, etc., etc. Why not learn the truth now instead of possibly putting the country through total HELL later. It would be so easy for Obama to release the documents, but oh no - he won't do it. Why? What is he hiding? There IS smoke...and there will be fire!

No one has to identify their birthplace on a college app. I helped my daughters just recently with college apps. All we had to prove for the University of Colorado was that they were Colorado RESIDENTS for tuition purposes. The private colleges didn't care at all.

Oh for heaven's sake why would he have to do that??????? My brother graduated from Harvard, got his masters from Harvard, got his PHD from Harvard and NEVER was born in Kenya. It isn't a prerequiste to acceptance to Harvard and, as far as I know, it is not required for Columbia either.
