Good. The house will be available on Jan 15 as it is traditionally available for incoming presidents. I bet Bill and Hillary could make room for them somewhere....

Why would the Obamas assume they could move into the Blair House 10 days before they are supposed to?

It is terribly unfair for the Obamas to request something that's completely unprecedented, then have people complain when it doesn't happen.

You're right. It's disrespectful of the Obamas to assume they can move in 10 days earlier than they are supposed to.

What makes them so special?

What's disrespectful? The Obama's wanting other people who have been booked for the Blair house to get the hell out of the way so they can have what they want? I agree, that is disrespectful.

What makes them so special??? Barack Obama is the President-Elect. Their children are starting school. They need to move to D.C. in time for the start of school. The request is perfectly reasonable. The refusal exhibits small-mindedness and a lack of generosity. Big surprise.
