DETROIT — President-elect Barack Obama isn't saying if he'll make changes to the auto industry loan package announced Friday morning by President Bush. But Obama warned auto companies Friday that "the American people's patience is running out."
Lets see - The Shareholders have lost most of their investment. The white collar ranks have lost their pension, 401(k) match and a host of other forms of compensation - if they are still working & have not been laid off.
So how is the Poor old UAW "taking all the hits" So far I don't see them taking much of a hit at all. They've pushed off the lower wages onto future employees, and will have to manage a VEBA instead of getting their gold plated healthcare plan right from the company. So how have the long term UAW workers and retirees "taken a hit" let alone all the hits?
