I was wondering with all the publicity on Barack Obama does he have what it takes?

He seems to be an exceptional public speaker, possibly the best since Bill Clinton. Does any one here think he can get go past the primaries and get elected based on his extremely articulate speeches or is there a chance that he might start being percieved as not being as knowledgeable as other candidates on the issues?

He seems to be cracking a bit, losing his temper, losing his focus. Plus he has to face the political campaign machine of Hillary Clinton. Like or hate Bill Clinton, everyone admits he campaigned like no one has seen before. He had all the right people on his campaign staff, and those people will be working for Hillary - These people have press connections, political connections, funding connections. He has to respect and fear that Clinton campaign machine (same thing with the republican candidate when it comes time).

Obama is the far left favorite right now but I expect him to implode like Howard Dean and do like some crazy scream or something sooner or later. Then Hillary's people will steam-roll over him.

Not yet. He is this election's Howard Dean. He's going to make a lot of news for the next several months then get beaten in the primaries.

He's a very smart guy, a great public speaker, but he isn't ready to be President yet. Maybe next time around.

I think he's just what we need- a real leader to get behind. Someone that will bring us together as one country again. And I also think he's smart enough to put people in place to compliment him. Don't think he will let ego get in the way of building a strong team.

How do you think Obama has proven his leadership so far?

I completely agree with you. I think that he and Hillary are going to cancel each other out and John Edwards will get the nomination.

Sure - just what we need. A one term Senator, with very little experience for President.

I'm waiting until the fall to announce that I'm running for President! I'm running on the 'I'm not them' platform - just like the Democrats.

I hope so. I wanted him to get it last time. (Kerry???? What were Democrats thinking?) Edwards is not my ideal candidate by any stretch, but he's the strongest one on the Democratic side so far.

He has all the qualities of a leader- he's visionary, inspirational, focused, intelligent, ethical, persuasive, empowering...you know, 180 degrees from W.

And more experienced than W, too.

More experienced? Be real. Bush was elected twice as the Govenor of Texas, an executive position similar to President. If O'Bama has these ingredients, he must've authored plenty of legislation in the Senate. Can you tell me what these pieces were?
