I just cannot hardly wait. It is like a heavy load of rocks being lifted off the nation's back. I will be so proud to call this man PRESIDENT Obama! He is already keeping his promises to put in place good professional people and get rolling on the very first day.
At noon next Tuesday we are having a "New Years Eve" style party here where we will count down the final 10 seconds and celebrate with fireworks and drinks at noon on Tuesday!
I'm with you Kev.
I'm nearly 54 years old and I have NEVER seen the country sooooooooo anxious to be rid of a sitting President. Much of that is high expectations of Obama of course, but undoubtedly far MORE people are just desperate to get rid of the b**b currently sitting in the Oval Office.
America (and the World really) will truly breathe a sigh of relief when "Junior" is no longer calling the shots and thus can do nor more damage. Too bad the American people were stupid enough to give him so much time (TWO terms) to prove his incompetence and bring about so much havoc. Now we have an ENORMOUS mess to deal with that's going to take a LONG time to fix.
Surely you remember Jimmy Carter? Remember the country and how they wanted to get rid of that bumbling fool for someone who could make something happen?

I DO remember Jimmy Carter and voted against him (and for Reagan) - and the country was not NEARLY as anxious to get rid of him as they are to get rid of "Junior".

I remember Jimmy Carter quite well and voted against both him and Reagan in 1980, and there is no comparison at all between the Carter and Bush presidencies (Bush's was far worse) nor between the degree of the people's utter disgust with the incumbent and everything he has done. Bush again is a runaway leader in that category...

I remember Jimmy Carter and people who voted for him- me included (my first time to vote BTW)- were not voting against Gerald Ford. I did not dislike Gerald Ford. My feeling was that, after all the years of Nixon and Watergate, it was time for a change.
I still do not consider Carter to be a horrible President. Ineffective yes but not horrible. Carter was caught in circumstances that he really could not deal with. He did not invite hyper inflation nor did he invite Iran to take hostages and he tried to deal with them as best he could without getting the hostages killed or sending the economy into a tailspin (which Reagan did a year later) to cure hyper inflation. I was in the service while Carter was President and I never worried about him sending us into war on a whim but if the Iranians harmed the hostages, ALL of us in the service were more than ready to go over there and lay a royal ass whuppin on that country.
