The Onion has become one of my favorite source for time pass reading, and while their articles can be exceptionally funny, it is amazing how well their crystal ball worked, the vision of Bush Presidency, a couple of days before his invocation in 2001. An excerpt:

"On the economic side, Bush vowed to bring back economic stagnation by implementing substantial tax cuts, which would lead to a recession, which would necessitate a tax hike, which would lead to a drop in consumer spending, which would lead to layoffs, which would deepen the recession even further."

A lot of comedy cuts through the BS and is right on the mark most times. My kid watches South Park (yeah I know, bad me) and I see some things on there that cut staight to the bone of truth and issues of the day.....Sad when I trust South Park more than FAUX news to get my political commentary.

I can't watch Woderboy unless it's through the Daily Show's lenses.

Amazingly prophetic. Thanks. It will give me pause next time I remind someone The Onion is a satire and not a mainstream media org!

They were actually way off. Tax cuts did not cause this recession.

It was symbolic, and a mockery of Bush policies. You didn't get it.

I love The Onion... great humor that is quite often a little close to reality!

Another great fun read is "Tasteless Choice" --- as they say...
"We at Tasteless Choice apologize to anyone who we haev not et offended. We're trying our best to get to all of you."

If we are busy laughing at ourselves, then there's no time to laugh at others! (er, ummm, except when they do something really stupid that earns them a place in the Darwin Awards!) hahaha
