Missing the woods for the trees, aren't we?

You probably found comfort in black box policies that existed in previous administration. Obama is human, and I expect him to be less than perfect. There is a benefit to being a realist.

I think it's something in the middle, but I dont know what it is. I think he honestly did want a pure and transparent cabinet - so he didnt lie to us. He's certainly hired people and known of stories where people failed their vetting, so he's not incompetent and inexperienced that way. And he was a Senator - he knows these guys, knows stories and atmosphere.

Daschle was a mentor to him when he was a new senator, so that's kind of understandable...though too cronyish already for me... Hillary No clue as to why the Raytheon lobbyist is the ONLY human being who can do that job.

If he never speaks about it to us, that could be it for me.

The big difference here is that Obama has a policy of not filling his cabinet with lobbyists - thus he must make a very public waiver to his policy when he does. Contrast that with the previous administration in which industry insiders and lobbyists were put in charge of governing their own industries and you can see what a big change this is.

Not when it comes to wondering why Obama didn't retract the nominations himself when the problems became public knowledge.

But so spectacularly less than perfect in such a short time? C'mon...

CHANGE like firing all foreign ambassadors, most of whom were given the post by George W Bush solely on the basis of political contributions and not for their foreign service experience. Back then, the formula was simple: Have $200K, can I pick the city?

The topic isn't about me.

And I already posted my take on the topic. "Change" was an extension of the same... both fundamental to reducing corruption.
