You seem to not understand the job of POTUS. Some of this PR stuff is parat of the job description. The Camp David trips are usually for purposes of working. Do you think he shouldn't be able to spend a night out with his wife?

A more important question is... is a night out with his wife worth millions of dollars from tax payers? Especially at bad economic times... especially if he could do it after presidency without all the related costs... It only serves to make an image that our president's likes to be irresponsible... Bush was like that... Obama is starting to act like it...

The multiply $120,000 by 65 trips (through March 2007) = $7,800,000 (YES THIS IS NEARLY 8 MILLION DOLLARS TO PAY FOR BUSH VACATIONS THROUGH MARCH 2007 !!!)

Then add to that cost of police and Secret Service

Then also add to that the cost of additional vacations to Bush family residence in Kennebunkport.

Bush On Track To Become The Vacation President

Vacationing Bush Poised to Set a Record
The president departed Tuesday for his longest stretch yet away from the White House, arriving at his Crawford ranch in the evening to clear brush, visit with family and friends, and tend to some outside-the-Beltway politics. By historical standards, it is the longest presidential retreat in at least 36 years.

He could've have taken his wife to the local McDonalds and got her a Big Mac and supersize fries. Then taken her to the movie theater for a flick. All this could have been done at minimal cost to the US Taxpayer.

The village idiot that you've elected president is a hypocrite pure and simple. He's telling us the economy is bad and everybody but the average citizen needs a bailout. If that's true he should be cutting back like the rest of us. He's a freaking liar and worthless as udders on a boar hog.

Obviously, you know nothing about economic recovery. People staying home and not going out only perpetuates the economic malaise. Obama is doing his part to stimulate the economy by going out on a Saturday night. If we all did the same, things might start turning around sooner. I did my part last night, and had a great time at no additional cost. Try it, it might improve your outlook.

It wasn't Obama's money that paid for all the Secret Service expenses was it??? Wasting taxpayers dollars isn't going to stimulate the economy. Obviously you have no common sense when it comes to spending taxpayers dollars wisely.

In the other thread, which I strongly recommend you read, since the same stuff is being said over and over, I said that even if he had done that, the security detail would have been about the same. And the POTUS is supposed to restrict himself to dates at McDonald's and the local 24 plex? He is a human being, even if you don't think so. Your pithy little analogies are irrelevant and childish.

How soon they forget just how wacko they were with Bush.

Date night with my tax money? When the economy is so bad he spends 5000.00 for fly to a dinner that cost more then most hungry familys spend in a week for food.

Do not forget Fidel Obama flew Michelle to Chicago using our tax money for Valentines Day all the way to Chicago.

He is mis using our tax dollars for his personal lifestyle.

He needs to stop spending money like a fool.

Date night should not cost tax payers thousands of dollars.
