Obama can´t fix the world crisis!

He would have to nuke Russia, India, China, and Brazil (the emerging economies).

Put it this way: Economcally, we are in probably the most dire point in the Obama presidency. At the peak of this weakness, Obama still manages to remain on the 50% threshold.

If the economy steadily improves from this point onward (which most likely will), Obama's approval rating steadily improves.

So I say yes, he will win re-election. Easily.

No. In fact, I think the Dems will be in the White House for 12 straight years. Time is necessary to gut the GOP of its worst excesses and diseases. Time is also necessary for the masses to grow disillusioned with the Dems who want change and no fresh ideas than to come up with New Deal propaganda and socialist utopian agenda, for which the US is uniquely unsuited.

In fact, the US needs 10 more years of this turmoil so it can finally look in the mirror and wonder how we effed up the opportunities given to us by our "Greatest Generation" and a world of economic competitors who were down for the count.

Now the real horse race has begun. A rebuilt Europe. An emerging China. A Japan that remains fiercely competitive. A Latin America, led by Brazil, Mexico, and Chile that despite the rhetoric of morons like Chavez and Marixstas and despite the evils of the drug trade is as healthy economically as it has ever been. And even Mother Russia is continuing its progress of European integration despite its love for autocracy.

In this kind of world, we have to fight hard for survival. No room for complacency or visions of fantastical grandeur. But what do we see? A GOP that resembles the National Enquirer and Snake Oil Salesman of the 19th century with one line missives and simple answers to match their simple minds. We also see a Democratic party that is exactly as many of us knew along alone, a party of no new ideas, a party without principles, and a party that is more about protecting Democratic turf of its big business than anything that has to do with increasing our ability to compete in the global marketplace.

But as obvious as this all is, it will be made more obvious after another 10 years of misery, at which point, a breath of fresh air as markedly different as was Reagan was will come through. with any hope it is Goldwateran in nature, a leaner and meaner USA, based on reason than ideology and mythology.

S.

What hasn't Obama been partisan on? Have you been paying attention? Hell Obama could push this health care reform through right now if he wasn't so worried about hurting you peoples' feelings. Republicans have protested with out reason against the stimulus and health care reform literally just to do it. They offered no solutions nor legitimate concerns and rather spouted off about socialism and kenyan birth certificates.

If you really don't see that republicans are being obstructionists, then you have a very narrow view of the world. Its a good idea to turn the channel from Fox News once in a while just so you don't start to believe that their spin and only their spin is true.

Republicans do this in the name of democracy and America. If someone could explain to me how trying to get in the way of American progress, which is gonna happen eventually whether they like it or not, in any way helps either democracy or America I might be able to understand how people could live their lives fighting against everything while offering no solutions nor constructive criticism and feel as they've actually accomplished something.

Obama will be reelected in 2012 and, if we can get the Constitution amended, for several terms thereafter.

A leaner and meaner US with Obama at the head? Oh please, government will be so bloated and so busy kissing the butts of Chavez, Castro and any others that hate America. He's already attempting to remake America in their image.

America and those that love her will not tolerate a second term of Obama. Ideally, he'll be led away in handcuffs before the end of this term so we can put an end to his policies and
the marxists, communists and socialists that are so crucial to his agenda.

i see obama losing, but more because he is a global corporatist than a socialist. look at what he does, not what he says! we are spending more money on military action, including sending troops to colombia now. we are spending more money on stimulus programs, which china is no longer willing to fund. (that is very important to think about in the next couple of years!). we are giving wall street taxpayer money and not restricting the way that it is used at all, nor is obama demanding to know how the money is being spent! isn't that odd for a socialist to not want to know what the big companies are doing with the money? obama appointed another goldman sachs flunkie to the treasury position. obama is a corporate crook and soon enough americans will wake up to that fact!
even obama's health care plan is designed to benefit big pharma. why do you think he struck a deal with them and why do you think they are shilling for him?
guess who is getting the government contracts, the big corporations.
guess who is getting the banking money, the big banks, and the little banks are being expected to raise money to replenish the FDIC while the big banks profit!!
bush was a disgrace and obama is a disgrace. we need a new direction for america SOON.

the dream of relying on the chinese economy to lead the world recovery looks to be fading, as well. china has their own problems and isn't focused on the welfare of the united states......

another question, why isn't congress issuing subpoenas for the bailout lying? are they just pretending to want to stop corruption to fool the public, or are they complicit in the corruption? why isn't the federal reserve being audited?
The Market Ticker (video)

When will Congress hold Henry Paulson to account for what clearly looks to be a violation of the law, in that he appears to have sworn falsely before Congress.
Who else knew of and assisted in this intentional deception? Specifically, were Geithner and/or Bernanke involved?
It has been alleged that Lloyd Blankfein, Goldman's CEO, was also told in advance. If so that is material non-public information and any trading that Goldman conducted based on that information is potentially unlawful.

This sort of outrage with the people's money must not stand.
