Dang. i actually voted Repug for the first time ever and chose Kay as the least of the 3 evil crazies. Why do texans keep putting that arrogant rascal Perry in there? Hasn't he been there long enough?

I don't understand that either. Why was it OK for perry to be in there for well over a decade anot for her to stay in the Senate?

Why are you asking questions you already know the answer of?

Payback for supporting Palin then dismissing her after her failed campaign. Perry likes/used Palin. LOL

Well, I don't live in your state but I hear her nickname was Senator Kay "Bailout" Hutchison for her stimulus vote. Frankly, you vote with Obama/Pelosi/Reid on anything other than renaming a post office, you aren't going anywhere this November. She's just lucky she had a job to go back to.

As an outsider, I'm rather fond of the rascal Perry and some of his public statements. I was kind of hoping he'd vet Californians before he allowed them to flee there and taint the great state of Texas with their liberal ways.

Yeah, that only appeals to stupid Texans... and we got a ton of those. Do you know what would have happened if all the banks would have gone under? They didn't vote on it because they were bored, they actually did rescue the U.S.

E. J. Dionne, one of the writers at the WaPo, has a good take on Perry's win in the TX GOP Primary.

The gist is that the GOP is moving so fast and so far to the right that even Cheney's endorsement of Kay wasn't good enough. Writer Dionne thinks that as the GOP moves ever further to the extreme right that the more centrist type of GOP voter will no longer find it palatable to vote for GOP candidates, thus making TX more of a purple state than a red state. Perry's extreme views include secession which may have won him a primary but may lose him the general election. If the 30% of TX GOP'ers who voted for Kay end up voting for a moderate DEM this fall, TX could get a DEM governor.

maybe americans aren't going to vote for people who voted against their wishes, and the bailouts were done against the will of the american people.

i am glad that hutchinson lost, although i don't think perry is as right wing as everybody seems to think that he is. (although he is certainly talking the talk now)
