Joe Quesada, former Marvel Comics editor-in-chief and current executive vice president and creative director of Marvel Entertainment, has announced he's leaving the company after 22 years.
Quesada made the surprise announcement via Twitter, telling fans, "After two plus decades (has it really been that long?), the time has come for me to move on. As you can imagine, my love for the company, its characters, and all my coworkers runs deep, but I have an exciting new chapter that's about to begin, so the time feels right."
Some vloggers wondered if Joe Quesada left of his own or if he was pushed by Marvel or Disney to quit?
This is kind of a general question, but why have we turned into a society that has to question everything and speculate about more insidious factors? Why can't people take him at his word until he says otherwise? Is it so outside of the realm of possibility that after 22 years, he just wants to do something different?
Seems to me that these days, 22 years at one company is an anomaly, and it's stranger that he would remain there that long.
