okaaay.... but i'm talking about a general premis - like when an "out" lesbian comedian constantly references the fact that she is gay, that is somehow humorous.
Most of the racial bits which esp black comedians lean on, a LOT. eg the whole street-smart, tough talking black kid in the ghetto BS, how blacks are so much more "real" than whitey, etc etc. Not saying they're always put-downs, but for a people that claim to be so horrified about racial stereotypes, sure doesn't seem to be a problem having it in stand-up routines.
Political stuff also gets tiresome very quickly. Yes, every Democrat is a bleeding heart moron and every Republican is and greedy and heartless, blah blah - oh please, spare us already, it's so old and un-funny.

I agree with this. I don't find it very creative since it the same jokes told over and over.
