Good post!
I lived 18 years in Germany. The German whole are very appealing and more open-minded. Some years ago I read that European women are generally more independent than American women. American women basically strive to get married, have kids, and live a family life. European women are interested in education and a career, marriage if possible, but not an obsession.
Conversation with American women is often boring. How long can you listen about the kids, make-up, TV shows, fighting wrinkles, wardrobes, etc.

/thread

Seriously, best post in the entire thread. Education is a factor, food is a major factor (i.e. weight), openness and friendliness are also very important. You hit upon all three.

Beauty(physical) is something that comes with youth and passes with age.

They know why men and women are different and they embrace this. They're not afraid to enjoy sex and weren't culturally programmed to fear and hate men (Womens Lib, CSI, Oxygen Channel, Left Wing Liberalism, Oprah, etc.).

Europeans walk, burn fart, and have healthy food, and the money to buy it.

Which translates to attractive bodies.

They do not want to rob you of your last penny and then drop like a hot potato, they do not expect a "big rock" on the second date, and they are perfectly happy to have a stroll in the park, or just a coffee and do not expect you to take them to an expensive restaurant or shower them with expensive gifts. They are not whinny, have more common sense and usually take care of their own affairs without being overwhelmed, depressed or needy. They do not expect you to call every 5 minutes and tell them "I love you", because if you don't call you can expect all kinds of drama. They do not want you to have 2 jobs just to pay huge mortgage for their "dream McMansion" or cover maxed out credit cards. Their goals are just different - and that probably make them sexy and desirable.
All the above. They are more feminine in behavior than the average American woman. This alone makes them more attractive, even if all the rest weren't true.

Except for the lucky few who maintain their beauty and youth well into middle age.

1) All those Pop songs are strictly censored. You will never hear any naughty words on the radio or on TV. In contrast, when I was in Germany, I saw a TV show with Eminem swearing (in German) openly and nothing was censored.

2) Porn industry - concentrated in one place and they can't even sell their material in most places in the US. Did you know that? They can sell their stuff on the liberal coasts, but in the heartland there are actually laws against that.

3) Hookups are greatly exaggerated, it's a figment of the "concerned commentariat's" diseased imagination, there have been articles proving that.

4) A recent survey indicates a third of Americans 15-24 (yes, that includes adults as well) are VIRGINS

(LINK: Sex study: More teens, young adults are virgins - USATODAY.com )

I'm not even gonna go into nudity on TV (never happens in prudish America, constantly happens in Europe)
1. On TV and radio, yes. In the digital downloads that probably represent the majority of youth music consumption, generally not.

2. The internet knows no borders, and as far as I know, only certain types of content are illegal in all states / any state (child pornography). The internet is where most pornography is consumed and has been for probably at least the past 10 years. It has made certain state and local regulations prohibiting pornographic establishments virtually irrelevant.

3. I don´t think hook ups are exaggerated among the older high school and college populations.

4. I think that this point, as well as your other points, reflects not so much the more conservative nature of American culture as the additional diversity of viewpoints. It seems that in many European countries, the public is much less varied in its viewpoints; they generally espouse a liberal view of sexuality, without condoning a¨"no bounds" approach to the matter. In contrast, within American society there are a number of viewpoints on sexuality, each with a significant following. There are some who believe that sex should wait for marriage; these people also tend to oppose pornography, sexually explicit lyrics, etc. They make up a significant chunk of the population, and they are largely the reason (i.e. Parent's Television Council)behind the retention of certain laws that censor media freely available to the public (e.g. radio, terrestrial TV, etc.). There is another group who believes that all forms of consensual sexual expression are acceptable, and they make up a significant part of the population as well. Perhaps they are part of the reason why U.S. pornography laws are more lax than those of Germany and Britain.

You have got to be kidding me

US porn laws "more lax" than those of Germany and Britain??? You mean, as in porn being freely visible in mainstream German publications, and totally out of sight on American newsstands? Perhaps you meant the opposite of "lax," as in "censored." That would make a little more sense.

Regarding what you wrote about "diversity of viewpoints," it seems like one of these viewpoints actually has priority, as in, it subjugates the other one. I mean, I'd love for someone to implement my viewpoint that I'd like to see uncensored nudity on mainstream American TV and hear uncensored lyrics on the radio (at least after 10pm). I'm still waiting for someone to actualize that viewpoint in the US, so we can have a semblance of diversity. As far as I can tell, I have to bend to the opposing viewpoint (at least unless I'm willing to pay extra money); that viewpoint characterizes the majority of the American population, which is my point. The viewpoint of the majority of the European population is vastly different. We're talking about majorities here.

P.S.: I never understood why some people have a tendency to say something is white when it's black, or black when it's white, just for the sake of argument. Is it so difficult to recognize general truths?
