Why should we? I come to these boards for information-- to hear people's opinions and perspectives on different cities, countries, etc. To me, hearing other people's perspectives is immensely helpful.

It is definitely a very interesting topic and so far I have not seen any "bashing" on anything.
I have visited both cities for about one week and as a visitor, I prefer Paris.

Paris is beautiful everywhere while London is a bit of a hit and miss and you find it stunning only in certain pockets of the city. Paris is much smaller and compact with extremely convenient subway system, which is exactly what I like most. I absolutely love the patisseries and boulangeries pretty much everywhere in Paris, which you don't see in London. Paris is also cheaper than London.

London's big advantage to me is its theatre scene which is amazing and is rivaled on by New York. The fact that most of its museums are free is a plus too. The UK has lower tax too if I am not wrong.

I live in Canada and if there is a chance I would love to live in either city!

More compact, only if you don't include the suburbs.

London by far, hands down. Much more vibrant and more of an international feel.

Not everyone likes "international feel" to be honest. Sometimes international feel means character-less, because here in north America, so many cities feel pretty international and multicultural. I myself would prefer a stronger local culture that gives us a more sense of identity.

Well, it's a matter of preferences then. That shows how sterile this discussion is.
