I am from South Europe and I went to study one year in Spain (Erasmus program), after that I was living 10 months in Sweden and 4 months in Ireland.

My impressions were:

In Spain during my erasmus people was very interested in History for example, or political issues, they used to have a very good general culture as well.

In Sweden people were very organized but less social, less interested as well in History, it might be because of the past of both places or whatever... More formality maybe but as well less interest in culture.

In Ireland a mix of both, in the middle.

As far as i have understood, the children and grandchildren of spaniards in Germany have an average in his notes even higher than natives, some years ago a study was published about this issue, i would have to look for it, because i have it in spanish but i would like to publish it in german.

Intelligence has nothing to do with ethnicity or region.

For the majority of Americans it's one and the same thing.
They don't understand the difference it seems...
