Asylum seekers, refugees and low-skilled immigrants are creating overcrowding, fueling community tensions and putting pressure on the NHS, a government report has found.

Home Office researchers have assessed for the first time the ground-level impact of immigration on British communities by conducting a survey of local authorities and service providers.

They found that immigrants were likely to lead to longer waiting times at GP surgeries, be involved in anti-social behaviour and create pest control issues because of overcrowding.
Immigrants create overcrowding and fuel tensions, report finds - Telegraph

I don't know about you people, but I'm shocked by this story. I thought that western nations always benefited from immigration, and more was always better. That's what I've been told most of my life by politicians and television shows.

You live in Los Angeles and are surprised at the existence of overcrowded immigrant households?!

Maybe I should clarify/correct that a bit.

Maybe in the late 1800's or early 1900's, when this country (the USA) especially, was still being *occupied* by *explorers* ...
And ... , when there is a *need*.

I am an example of this *need*.
When I graduated after getting my Masters in Aerospace Engineering,
I was literally *shanghaied* into coming to the USA to work on the Space Programme.
In Europe known as the European Brain Drain (Still going on today !!).
Never felt sorry about the decision to accept and I did also serve this country in the Armed Forces.

*NEED*
In the USA, there IS a *need* for workers in the Farming field, and be honest,
how many *legally here* Americans really want to do that job *for that little money* ?

Speaking of *western nations*
Germany, many moons ago needed factory workers and *imported* workers from the Middle East.
They were called *Gastarbeiter* (guest worker).
The word implied that you did NOT become a permanent resident, but was a *Guest*
That *need* is no longer there ...
So now those same workers from that same area are a *nuisance* today ...
because many of them never left ...

Immigration, when done right AND controlled, can be of benefit to both sides.
Even today !

Not sure if OP is tongue in cheek, but nevertheless...

Imagine that. Importing a collection of people who have no concept of Western ideals, democracy, rule-of-law, Christianity, ad infinitum, turns out not to work so well... Shame on labour for their 30 years of past action.

Comparing the current trend of mass immigration of third worlders, to the Irish/Italian immigrants of old is inappropriate.

'Anti-social' behaviour? What a monster of a euphamism.
