If they actually worked not only hard, but smart, their country would not be in the shape it is in.

These are economic refugees, wanting the freebies other countries will give them.
If you don't understand the situation in the region, you're better off not talking. These are not economic refugees looking for handouts, they're very often people running for their lives. I also didn't say they were highly skilled. I said they work hard.

Imagine for a minute leaving everything you know and own, including your language, your social structure, climate, everything. Drop you off in a place you don't understand, and now become a productive member of that society in short order. It's a hard task for anyone of us, now imagine doing it with no real experience with technology, the internet, formal education.

You may want to re-think your statement.

Or you can read the article and note that Israel is preventing any transfer of money beyond minimum wage outside the country.

What does Obama have to do with this?

You're talking about this comment:
"A law passed earlier this year makes it illegal for African migrants to transfer money out of Israel to their home country, and assigns stiff penalties to people found breaking this law, or Israelis found helping Africans wire money home.
The law stipulates that the transfer must be less than the minimum wage in Israel divided by the number of months the person has been in the country"

The key words are home country. So if they transfer the funds through a third party country, then they bypass the law.

Pretty well dressed for a migrant with real suitcases.
