In terms of landscape, climate, but mostly culture, like linguistically (I know Spain has like Catalan and Basque, but isn't Sicilian basically like another language? And there's south Tyrol too), what people are like (personality, looks), economics, infrastructure, architecture, cuisine.etc.

That's a tough question. It's a close call but I'll go with Italy.

I've only been to Italy, but I get the feeling it's Spain too, at least in terms of language and, although some might disagree, looks (dunno about the actual genetics). I found people throughout Italy don't vary as much as some have claimed. Italy wasn't as united as Spain until more recently, however, so it seems even now politically more fragmented.

Spain for sure... Catalonia, Basque country, Galicia, etc. And I'm pretty sure southern Spaniards are looked at less favorably by others in the country.

I'll have to go with Italy too on a very close call with respect to landscape, climate, cultural, linguistic, economic, infrastructural, architectural, and culinary variation, if for no other reason than that it is geographically longer and has more varied influences from the European and Mediterranean spheres.

Having said that, linguistically, since the advent of television, Italy has lost a lot of its regional variations, especially in the north, while it seems that different groups in Spain have been fighting to preserve theirs.

In terms of infrastructure and economics in general, since the 1980s-1990s, Spain has certainly been gaining on Italy, though starting from a smaller base, while Italy to a great extent was already stagnating in the 1990s, and now both are at a virtual standstill, though Spain probably has a better chance for recovery going forward, while Italy is like a geriatric on life support at risk of massive infection by maggots from within and without.

Good Luck!

Spain has oceanic climate regions, desertic climate regions and sub-tropical climate regions, all of which Italy lacks, so in terms of climate and landscape, I'd say Spain.

I think both countries are very beautiful, but spain is obviously more diverse.
Just look at the 15 national parks ( List of national parks of Spain - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ) , extremely diverse considering, spain isn't a large country.
