Rural Romania and Bulgaria. And Slovakia. In some areas people still wear traditional costume. Life moves at a completely different pace, as from an earlier century. Hike up into the mountain plateaux to see shepherds herding their flocks as they have for a thousand years. The village people eat homemade sheep cheese and bread. The village dance nights are still about folk dancing. It's an experience. You might see something similar in parts of Greece, as well.
