What sort of amusement parks are in Europe? I have always been a huge fan of amusement parks and just wondered what the ones in Europe compared to the US ones.

Not as much.

But Port Adventura is good. Very expensive to stay there! Cheaper for us to go for five weeks to America this year.

Heide park in Germany was quite nice. It had something for every taste.

Barcelona and Vienna have their own local amusement parks.

While near Paris, there is Disneyland.

Tivoli in Denmark. Don't know much about it yet although we plan to visit Tivoli in May.

Disneyland Paris, it is actually nicer than Disney World in Florida because it is newer but also much smaller. There are some Lego parks in Denmark, Germany, the UK. There is WB movie world in Germany. There are some smaller parks like Six Flags or the Efteling in the Netherlands and probably many more other parks all over Europe.

Asterix Park close to Paris as well. Le Puy du Fou, a theme park, in Vendée and the Futuroscope close to Poitier are nice too.

Among big parks, you also have Europa Park in SW Germany between Freiburg and Strasbourg. In the UK, Thorpe Park near London and Alton Towers in the northern Midlands.
