London/UK has higher quality of life, lower unemployment and better job opportunities. Madrid is nice but only if you speak Spanish and have a good job. Madrid is cheaper than London by far, and has better weather.

Yes, not comparable. London is a big sprawl compared to Madrid.
Madrid has indeed incorporated former towns, but not comparable at all.
The main difference is price of transportation, in London the "tube" and trains are extremelly expensive for such a large place.
You can compare the traditional London (the City, Tottenham, Leicester Sq..Hide Park, etc, to Madrid) but counting out all the myriad of towns and cities incorporated...

As for quality of life, you have to define what you are looking for. Both are big national capital cities, but London is quite arguably the world's leading global city.

If you have a special interest in Spain and Spanish culture, then Madrid. Otherwise probably London where you could pursue almost anything under the sun (and fog).

Good Luck!
Everything under the sun, but not the sun itself

In Madrid and in Barcelona, if you smile at somebody they will think you are a Bosnian pickpocket. People are friendly but callous after receiving billions and billions of tourists.

Both are not comparable at all.

Londoners are more friendly but can be annoying at the same time.

Londoners can be a bit rough with their visitors but still will be more flexible and understanding.

Madrid people are more likely to be less friendly (which they are) and more strained with people.

They are less understanding also and less helpful.
