There's a famous Czech movie with a similar title, I don't know if it's any good or not.

Does Brno deserve the title that the local Czechs give it?

It is just a movie. The city is in fact famous for its rich cultural life (a lot of theatres, galleries and so on). The movie-wise, it is kind of a strange piece of art, not sure that everybody would appreciate it.

That's funny! I think only Prazaci (snobs from Prague) would think that Brno is boring. I used to live in Brno --- it's definitely an interesting, culturally vibrant place.

But I always joke that Prague:Brno is like New York:Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh (or DC or San Diego or any similar, fairly large city) is an interesting place --- especially for people who know and love it --- but it's an order of magnitude smaller than NYC.

I really like Brno. It's not pretentious but has lots of interesting elements.

Brno is not very attractive. Compared to Prague, Olomouc and even Pilsen it pales.

I've been to all those cities and I preferred Brno over all of them. Does it have everything that Prague has? No, but it also doesn't have the congestion and touristy element that Prague has. The others just seemed very similar to me to Brno.

I actually got snowed in and had to stay in Brno for several days, and it ended up being the absolute best vacation I've ever had, thanks mostly to Brno.

Sure Brno's better than most Polsih cities of same size by comparison. But Plzen are has gems like Stribro, Klatovy, Domazlice, Sušice, the spa triangle. And it's also closer to Germany so you get to enjoy Bavaria and the Austrian alps. Brno's nice but in a relatively flat area, although it's close to Vienna and Bratislava. Still, it's far nicer than Polish or Slovak cities of similar size.
