Oh man, "centri sociali" are places attended by people who do not give a cr@p about rules, especially rules about smoking
About the other things you mentioned, they are all true, and certainly Italy would be a better place if people learned to stand in a row, use sidelights and drive on the right lane. Even sit near the window on a bus, if asking people to let you sit down is too much of an hassle.
But, frankly speaking, to me these are just minor annoyances.
I mean, if these were the REAL problems of Italy, this would be the luckiest country on earth.

yeah, really, I'm not complaining, these are just minor adjustments that you have to do when you change country. Although I admit it's not a country for shy people. I'm not used to asking on the bus because in my country it's a given that you have to leave some space to people. And using the right lane would allow for better traffic flow (especially when there is no third lane )
Meanwhile I enjoy the great coffee, cheese, wine, pasta, cheap public transportation and cheap highways...
