Now that it has been banned in São Paulo and will probably be done in more brazilian cities, its shocking cruelty has been more widespread around here. How is this is seen in europe? In countries where it is forbidden, is the commercialization also prohibited? Is there a pressure from the french society to banish this also in France? In countries where it is prohibited, is musk also prohibited?

I'd like it to be banned here, seriously, but if it happen one day it's gonna be bad for many people.
Wait for other French opinions.

Foie Gras is illegal here, as in many other countries.

Blue = illegal
Red = legal

Excuse me?

Of course liver as an organ isn't illegal. It's the force-feeding of ducks which is.

So you mean in Finland its commercialization is legal but not the production?
Are there restrictions to musk there too?

Foie gras is legal but force-feeding the duck is illegal, the foie has to come as natural, which is obviously not the same. Stores sell only natural liver.

Musk... I didn't even know what that was before googling. The product probably don't exist here.

It is still legal to sell in Norway but most supermarket chains and restaurants have stopped selling the product. The fatty liver is imported from France.

A foie gras tastes so good though... I mean in this case, do we have to stop eating all beef, pork... because it is "violent"? That sounds a bit extreme.

Furthermore, you do not want to "force feed" ducks but you industrialize the production of chicken? Of course...

Force-feeding chicken is also illegal in the EU.

I'm an omnivore myself, but I don't support animal cruelty. The animal cruelty laws in the EU are - despite still lacking - a 1000% stricter than they are in the US. Also the use of steroids is illegal here.
