I can fly into Frankfurt, then wait all afternoon, then take a connecting flight to Berlin (TXL)... for $459, arriving at 9pm.
Alternatively, I can fly into Frankfurt for $309... then take the 2pm train to Berlin, changing at Hanover, for $118. This arrives around 7:50pm.
Getting off at Frankfurt and taking the train seems better. However, either way I suppose I'm still just sitting around for the afternoon. This would be on a Monday or Wednesday.
Is it a nice train ride? Is there any reason the train would be obviously bad? Which would you choose?

The trains in Germany are clean and timely. I would take the train and enjoy the scenery!
I think i will take the train, as the central station is 2 minutes from where I need to go. Otherwise I have to get from TXL, which is another 30 minutes anyway. Thanks for the tips. I am going to check out the bus too, i hadn't thought of that.
More like between 30 and 50 Euros, and it will take about 7+ hours ...
If you are not concerned about time, then not a half bad trip !!
Nope. Originally I wrote 25, but then I checked and had to edit because I found most fares next week were about 20 on MFB.
