If you want to see all of Europe and are asking about McDonalds,
and you worry about the cost of ketchup ...
Stay home !!
Funny question:
<<<do restaurants make you pay money for ketchup>>>
What else do you pay with ???
LOL, yes the question is absurd, but to be fair, 'pay money' is a colloquial expression in the US. It is used to give emphasis to the word 'pay'. It may just be southeastern in origin (That's where I am from originally.) Haven't heard it in a while...

Depending on when the OP wants to go, eat a lot at Mc D's at your home town.
Collect a whole bunch of *free* ketchup sachets.
When you order fries, in Europe you may get two free sachets ...
When you go, take it all with you but do not put in Carry-On luggage !
But ... , unlike in the USA, where they seems to be thinking you can only eat with your fingers,
in some European countries you get a small plastic fork with your fries !!
Oh, to top it off ... , in Germany (I know for sure, I went once in 8 years),
you can get a *plastic* glass (oops ... cup) with beer !!
Now how's that for service ?
But you do have to pay for it, sorry !
Well in Dutch McDonalds you have to pay money for mayonaise and ketchup. I think it's like 20 ct a piece, so i guess it's not worth visiting our country...
But then again, it's understandable, when it already costs 1000's of $$ to get here, that 20 ct is a lot of money...
I have never heard of anyone going all the way to Europe just to eat at McDonald's.
Seems like such a waste of time, energy and money to eat processed poo.

Interesting how people jump to conclusions over a random question.
"Is ketchup free at restaurants?" translates to "I am traveling to Europe just to eat at McDonalds"
Obviously ketchup is an issue of great, meaningful importance to him.
