Just a simple question, which one of those two is: - more vegan friendly (vegan restaurants, better fruit/veggie markets...)
- safest, lowest criminal rate (criminal in general)
- more affordable, BUT also offers great apartments for long term renting?
Well as for vegan friendly even in McDonald's theres veggie food so hard to separate the 2
I'm a Londoner and I'd chose Barcelona it is cheaper ( not much tho ) and it's mostly Spanish speaking ( sound strange to say that as its in Spain but with the euro and you can go any were )
In London there's too many non English ppl to grasp the language
But at least you'll have the weather in barca . Good luck

Okay, but veggie (vegetarian?) options are not the same as vegan. It's more complex than that.
And Barcelona isn't mostly Spanish-speaking. It's mostly Catalan-speaking.
But either way, probably London is way more vegan friendly. I'm sure of it. I doubt many Spaniards are willing to part with their beloved interesting cuts of meat and jamon, whereas London has less of a native gastronomic identity, making it easier to build vegan communities.
I'm also positive Barcelona is cheaper. I've never been to London, but I have searched around the internet and it seems significantly more expensive than what I remember of Barcelona. I don't even think Barcelona is expensive compared to a lot of Northwestern Europe to begin with.

Also, where are you from? That matters too.
Hi Jesse yes veggie is what us Brits call vegetarians
I do apologise thought it was Spanish as its in Spain
In truth my only experience of Barcelona was a stag weekend about 11 years ago so........ Not an expert on the city but to the op promise you will have a great time for certain

I would also chose barcelona... london feels like north america it truly lost its identity and old european british flair! nowadays london is like being in a north american city.

Well, it's hardly a fair comparison. Barcelona, pop 1.6M, London pop 8.7M and a global capital.
No contest in the Vegan stakes. The UK has long been amongst the most veggie friendly of countries and I would say there is far more vegan provision in London than Barcelona. I was in Catalonia (Sitges/Barc) in July with a vegetarian friend and we struggled.
Crime? Actually, I very much doubt London has higher crime than Barcelona. Barc is famous for pickpockets and bag snatching - it's the only city in which I ever had a wallet lifted. Wander off Las Ramblas and it gets quite sketchy. Not that either city is particularly dangerous.
Cost? No contest. London is very expensive, especially currently given the strength of GBP. Like most global mega cities, it's expensive as so many people want to live here. It is certainly incredibly multi-cultural these days - more than I'd like. Too many women in niqabs and bhurkas for a start, but to say it feels like an American city is nonsense. It's nothing like them.
