I'd rather die than see the Slav tricolour flying over our House of Parliament.
Well, then if you're a diplomat, you know there is no need to get snitty with someone who is just interested in learning other people's opinions and lives in a country that is not hostile to yours.
-No. I don't fight for anything.- He said with a lost gaze, as if thinking of all the pain that he'd been through. He then retreated in the most dramatic way possible.

Oh, sorry. No no no, you misunderstood. I didn't mean any offence at all, sorry if you took my initial comment that way.
Yes, history has very much to do with our attitude of defending ourselves. Compare Finland with Ireland, Ireland lost even their language when being under the influence of a stronger nation for centuries. And later on we defended ourselves so that we remained on the right side of the Iron Curtain.

I'm sorry, but as an American I find it hard to believe that only 44% of Americans would defend their country if it was in harms way. I call BS on this polling because that number should be at least in 60-70 percentile, especially after travelling across this country for a number of years and meeting patriotic liberal and conservative Americans that love this country.

Only 2% of Americans, 6M, have actually served since 9-11 and all that flowed from it.
