Switzerland

At the crossroads of Europe.

Very small country that has it all.

London due to the diversity of that city as it has tons of immigrants from every European country. Also due to the English language the most widespread understood language in Europe.

I would have to go for France. As said before, mix between Northern and Southern Europe.

No, Switzerland is too rich.

Most of Europe are not rich. Some Europeans are poor.

Not Switzerland

Because most Europeans are not as rich as the average Swiss.

Belgium. The south is french-speaking, a more relaxed Latin nature. The north is Flemish-speaking, a variant of Germanic, and has a more Northern attitude.

It's also less than 1,5 hours away from London, 2,5 Paris, 3 hours from Amsterdam and 6,5 hours away from Berlin.

It's the best of Europe all contained in one tiny package.

I certainly think so, but I'm an American and it's the only part of Europe I really know so my opinion doesn't really count for much. What I do know is Belgium has fantastic cuisine, wonderful people and s*** weather. I think that represents northern Europe quite well.

I agree with this post.

Though if have to pick one, I'd say France under the context of North/South, and Austria under the context of East/West.

I don't think that it is a coincidence that Brussels is the "de-facto capitol" of the European Union as well as the official location of the European Commission, the Council of the European Union, and the European Council, as well as a seat of the European Parliament. The Netherlands would be my second choice. France is so uniquely French (I'm sure the French would think so) that it is hardly as representative as the whole.
