What's the difference?, you might want to read what the New York Time states:

In the German case the important number here isn’t the country’s total population, currently 82 million. It’s the twentysomething population, which was less than 10 million in 2013 (and of course already included many immigrants). In that cohort and every cohort afterward, the current influx could have a transformative effect.
How transformative depends on whether these men eventually find a way to bring brides and families to Europe as well. In terms of immediate civil peace, family formation or unification offers promise, since men with wives and children are less likely to grope revelers or graffiti synagogues or seek the solidarity of radicalism.
But it could also double or treble this migration’s demographic impact, pushing Germany toward a possible future in which half the under-40 population would consist of Middle Eastern and North African immigrants and their children.

That's your crudely worded conclusion.

My comment was towards the previous poster who said that there was a huge imbalance of male to female ratio among the immigrants and that somehow, that would prevent them overtaking the native German population because they could not find female partners to marry and produce children.

I merely pointed out that they could still overtake the native population because the large male immigrant population can intermarry with the native German female population.

More likely hastening the Germanization of the immigrants. They will not be accepted by women here unless they adapt.

I am an immigrant (from America) in Germany and have been quite well integrated through my now ex wife. I even speak English with a German accent now :-D

10 largest foreign nationality groups in Germany in order: Turkey, Poland, Italy, Romania, Greece, Croatia, Serbia, Russia, Bulgaria, Austria.

So much for your "Islamic invasion". If anything, the Orthodox are on the rise.

I think this, right here, is the root of the problem. The nations of Western Europe have created what are arguably the greatest cultures and civilizations ever known to man. And yet, instead of loudly trumpeting their pride in their heritage from the rooftops (or, more politely, just walking around with a confident smile), it seems that Europeans feel guilty about their own accomplishments and feel that everybody else's civilizations and cultures are better than their own.

And thus, they bring in hordes of Third World Muslims and naively think that these newcomers will magically transform from cutthroat barbarians to peaceful, docile Europeans like themselves. The natives have abandoned their Christianity, with the certainty that a strong religious faith can provide, and then seem shocked that the Muslims are supremely confident in the supremacy of their way of life. While the Europeans meekly seek compromise and accommodation, not feeling that their way of life is worth fighting for, the invaders are firmly convicted of the rightness of their beliefs, and are willing to die fighting for them.

Osama Bin Laden, though certainly evil, was also right about this: "when people see a strong horse and a weak horse, by nature, they will like the strong horse." Or, from Yeats: "The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity." Given a clash between people who are fanatically loyal to their cause, and people who can't be bothered to defend ANY cause, who do you suppose is going to win?

Patriotism has been castrated for over 60 years in Europe, it's unsurprising that nowadays it doesn't exist any more.
This explains the silence of the mass media over Cologne affairs, the persistent and pervasive political correctness, the deliberate hampering of any meaningful debate under the guise of the ridiculous 'racism' accusation and the cover-up of authorities.
Anyway, a nation without pride (pride, not sense of superiority) doesn't last for long: unless Europeans doesn't rediscover the superiority of their culture and achievements, they will be increasingly politically correct and willing to accomodate in terms of laws, customs and ideas.

Western Europe is inherently suicidal.
Don't recall title or author, but a few years ago I came across a book with some interesting comments. That for centuries, the West dominated the world. So, in effect, the only authorities worth questioning were our own. And all too often, we didn't live up to our ideals. (Even though society is made up of imperfect people).
