As to the warheads Britain has 225 and France has 300. Enough, but has to be used quickly before the 1600 active deployed warheads of the 7700 warheads that Russia has, start raining down on them.
If a nuclear holocaust would be upon us, after France and Britain fires its warheads the US will surely follow. And Russia will retaliate. In any case, we are back to the fact that after this destruction of our planet the few living will envy the dead. It is the end for all of us.
Last time I checked Austria was a free country. The president seemed a nice enough guy. Why does he not just tell the US troops to pack up by a certain date and go home. After all it is well within your right to kick them out. And take over NATO completely. I am not sure if there is any agreement that says that such a thing cannot happen forever.
I'm not sure about which US troops in Austria you are talking about?
5. Everything has an admission charge. Museums are expensive. Pay, pay, pay. Everything is for pay.
But in the cities closest to me -- Washington DC, Baltimore MD, Richmond Va, and Raleigh NC, -- the major Art museums, and state history museums are all free of charge.

I've heard that the Metropolitan Art, and Natural History museums in N.Y. City are free too.

WHAT???? Free???? SOCIALISM!!!! Those goddamn peace-loving veggie-munching hippie communists are taking over the US. Here in the land of freedom and liberty (Europe) museums cost to enter!! Like it should be!! Keep your charity!!
I am not evading and you are unnecessarily argumentative.
I don't care if it is 20K or 50K troops, or if they are fighting forces or support, or Stryker division or Sherman division or any other named one. And I don't know or care which city or country they are protecting.
And if there is hardly any troops in Europe these days, well and good.
All I am saying is that if Europe wants to kick the remaining people out and be free of any American influence let them do it and remove American armed / support presence from European soil. No more talk of American imperialism and overbearing nature. (This is mainly directed at Norne who wanted them out, not you)
The host countries (basically Germany, Italy, and Great Britain) want the small contingencies of US troops still "in country" there. It's not like we're invading Europe, for pete's sake. We're members of NATO and the UN.
All of NATO is concerned to about the violence in the Middle East and how to contain that. Part of what the US is doing in it's greatly scaled back installations in Europe is maintaining infrastructure in case NATO (not just the US) needs to ramp up in response to bigger drama which is in close proximity to Europe (the Mediterranean and the ME).
3.) You can’t leave the hotel with your room key
4.) Things close down at lunch time
5.) It’s hard to find to go cups for coffee- You’ll have a hard time ordering a cup of coffee to go.
6.) Dinner takes two to three hours to eat- Ready for a quick bite to eat? Think again.
7.) Sometimes you have to pay before you order
8.) Public toilettes aren’t free
9.) Wifi isn’t free and isn’t always available
10.) You don’t need to tip
11.) Almost all museums are free (or at least cheap)
12.) Ordering a latte means ordering a milk
13.) Breakfast is cold cuts, cheese, and bread- Eggs don’t seem to be common for breakfast.
14.) Salads aren’t a big thing
15.) Limited selection of foods
16.) Burgers must be well done
What mildly amuses me, but perhaps shouldn't, is that some people will read Yanagisawa's BS, and believe it.
Okay, there are multiple ways to flush different toilets, but I'm puzzled as to how taking a shower can be a challenge, or who's going to stop you leaving your hotel for the evening with your key, the key police?
Things close at lunchtime?
Perhaps he/she is thinking of siesta time in Spain, shops and businesses usually close from 14.00 until 17.00, bars and restaurants from about 16.00 until 20.00 or 21.00.
In big cities, Madrid for example, it is normal to make table reservations for 22.00 hours, because Spanish people eat dinner late.
You can get coffee to go anywhere in Europe, dinner may take 2 or 3 hours because Europeans like to chat and drink between courses, and while they eat.
A latte is a milky coffee anywhere in the world, lait is French for milk, leche is Spanish, milch is German.
Breakfast can be scrambled/poached/fried or boiled eggs, with bacon, sausage, beans, or it can be croissants and coffee.
If you want salad, you can get it, but rarely for breakfast, you'll find fruit though.
Take his/her post with a pinch of salt, it's always available.
Just an FYI.....Here's a recent NATO release: ........
'Today, Secretary of Defence Ash Carter announced that the US plans to increase significantly its military presence in Europe.
I strongly welcome this proposal.
The budget request will, if approved, lead to a quadrupling of funding to 3.4 billion US dollars in 2017 for the US force posture in Europe.
This will fund more rotational US forces, more training and exercises. More prepositioning, war fighting gear and infrastructure.
This is a clear sign of the enduring commitment by the United States to European security.
It will be a timely and significant contribution to NATO’s deterrence, and collective defense'
There it is . Europe and United States.....'like two close peas in a pod'.....been like that since the post-war. Nothing like 'collective' security if 'anyone' (but we know who!) tries to pop out some lights somewhere on the continent.
