Of course France is safe!

It has a much lower homicide rate than the USA and guns are heavily regulated, unlike in the U.S. Which most news outlets do not report the dangers of unregulated gun sales and the many domestic "terrorism" we have in our borders, but I disgress.

Just have common sense and do not fall for the common scams by pickpockets and stay away from dark places at night.

Paris might be a bit debateable since there are wannabe thugs or gypsies wanting to rob you in the subway. Although, I ended up fine because I walk like a belonged there by not smiling everywhere, every time and not wearing anything too fancy in the subway.

As long you act with common sense and do not forget that you are in a big real city and not in a tourist theme park, you will be.

You should be aware that France has very advanced systems for monitoring prospective tourists coming into the country, and they don't suffer fools gladly. As such, anyone arriving at either of Paris's two main airports who has been found to have posted a thread on the internet asking questions like 'Is France Safe What Wiv All The Muswims???' is required to to be slapped round the face with half a kilo of over-done onglet before they will be allowed to proceed through immigration controls.
