These days all Spain is full processions with music, choirs and "brothers"="cofrades"-
Only in Seville there 165 000 cofrades parading -
They are preparing and pay all year for these days .
Its something unforgettable for those who see them for the first time..
They are very different the processions of cities,of villages of andalusia of the cities of castilia
,Ej.-Valladolid, Zamora of the Seville Malaga.-
I think that americans are frightened of these habits of these processions that reminds
them of the KKK that ago years they copied of these spanish habits.
However these processions are all the opposite.
They are penitents who as ago 7 centuries each year repeat the tradition the penitents that suffer carry the images hours and hours for their sins.
Ago Years it was said that the processions they had that would go to less and however grow in participants each year
The localism or regionalism is perhaps an essential feature of spanish(it happens in politics too)one part important of spanish people he maintains tradition of the processions since the Century XIII ,and also maintains the tradition of their own food of easter-
These processions are a blast of musical of art (gregorian chant in some cities and many scultures made by famous artists )
These processions they are full of tourists but there is only very few comments in the forums of tourists perhaps because they not find that there is explanation of this things .
Perhaps the comment from a tourist that I heard in a procession is good for summarize this thought "If I had not seen with my own eyes I would not have believed."
