Are there any European countries that displays their national flags in many places besides on government buildings and during sporting and national days?

I’ve been to dozens of European countries and barely saw the national flags (besides smaller flags in France and the UK).
Something I like about North America, especially in the US and Canada is how you see flags displayed everywhere from buildings, to highways, some stores, homes, etc. and many on large poles. I love the display of flags looks beautiful and you can tell you truly are in that nation!

Seems to me that the European countries where the flag is often seen are UK, Switzerland, France, Italy, Sweden.

Not very common except during national holidays.
We discussed and explained it here:

The only time you see the flag here is during international football or rugby competitions, they usually disappear quite quickly once the national team is out!

pretty rare in France, it really makes you look nationalist. Same here in Italy.

Most occasions where they are displayed are either sport events and national holidays.

Displaying your flag on a random day here or in France would be seen as extremely bizarre.

Where I see the Union Jack the most in the UK is in supermarkets for British meat, fruit and vegetables. I haven’t seen this in other European countries.

I haven't noticed? Then again I can't say that I have ever actually looked :-), what supermarket are you referring to? Any one in particular?
