but can they be 'almost bitcoin society' 0_0 pre euro? as a side note one of my favorite bitcoin sites which also happens to be Finnish is going "down the spiral" since very recently and I bet the reason for this is as always: the eu. Their regulations are killing them since they enforced kyc ('know your customer'), banned iran, demand phone verification etc...meanwhile just had a good experience with chinese "commie" website.

In an effort to combat a perceived illicit use of the €500 banknote, no Europa series was produced. Instead nearly a billion brand new €200 Europa banknotes were produced.

According to the ECB circulation of the €200 is now (1 Oct 2019) 347.8 million notes and circulation of the old series €500 banknotes is 464.7 million notes (for a Euro Area population of 340 million). In the 9 months since 1 Jan 2019 the €200 banknote has increased in circulation by 36% and the €500 banknote has decreased by 11%.

Is there any perception of this change on the ground level? Do you see the €200 banknote more often? As the most popular banknote, the €50, circulates at over 30 notes per person perhaps you simply don't see the €200 banknote (which is still circulating at roughly 1 note per person).
