The shocking figure emerged after France suffered its highest single-day death toll since the epidemic began yesterday when more than 509 people died in hospital within 24 hours. French Interior Minister Christophe Castaner on Wednesday said over 350,000 people had been fined for flouting the government’s tough lockdown since the order took effect on March 17, adding that 5.8 million police checks had been carried out.

No, it's 471 people.
But the daily count in most country only include people who dies in hospital.

Today they added 884 people who died in nursing houses since the beginning of the crisis.

I don’t think you can claim that without providing a link or some other sort of evidence. I think it’s fair to say that some places with high death counts may have had a tough time keeping track (e.g. reports in Bergamo) but you cannot claim that ‘most countries’ don’t count deaths in nursing homes in their official totals. Unless you’ve seen something I haven’t?

I recall many old people in Spain were abandoned and died in a nursing home. I wonder if they were tested. Most likely not.

An item on BBC News today, April 8, said that new lockdown measures coming in in France, will ban leaving the home for exercise periods, whether it’s immediate or planned for the future I don’t know.

Yesterday they had over 1400 deaths while my country had 1...obviously they need to improve better measures or something. I'm not sure if it's rational for France to be against immigration from eastern europe but something's telling me we should be against immigration from France.

At times like these, the lev may prove to be more valuable than the euro.

They don't have to ask Tietmeyer.

these days I only care about cryptocurrencies anyway and forget even about economy now we're talking about common sense. This is 1400 times difference, yes France has many times the population too yet even accounted for % per capita the difference is staggering in terms of tens of times per million:

This number (1400) is not exactly the amount of people that died in France in 24h, about half of it actually died in hospitals that day (still a lot yes). That’s because the deaths outside of hospitals (mainly in retirement homes) are updated every 4-6 days only, so this number was the sum of the people who died in hospitals in 24h and those who had died outside of hospitals between Thursday and Monday.
