Particularly interested in your answer if you meet the following criteria :
*workout 4 or more days a week
*Have low/lowish body fat
*have a decent amount of muscle mass
Other than "workout [sic] 4 or more days a week," because then you're giving yourself a rest day quite frequently, why do the other two matter? Everyone should give their body at least one rest day per week.
My rest day is Monday; I do light yoga, about 10 minutes, only in the morning and evening.

Just to clarify, I'm not talking days off in a week.....I'm talking how often per year do you give yourself 1-4 weeks off all exercise.

1-4 weeks off? I couldnt do it. At the most, I'll take a week off here and maybe a week off there. It just depends on how by body feels. I consider doing taichi and/or yoga REST, especially while relaxing in savasana.
i guess a few weeks a year because i generally dont go to the gym when i go away on a vacation. i dont feel i need to take the time off though, it just doesnt usually work into a vacation.
Been going to the gym for a year now and my routine is 5 days on 2 days off, those 2 days being Saturday and Sunday, taking a week or more off would get me worried about losing the enthusiasm of going to the gym.
so i guess if the op's question is

I don't really have set periods where I say: time off.
I just go with what feels right. As soon as I feel bloated, soft or see a scale creep it gets me back into being active. I would say maybe the long rest of a month a couple times a year. Taking one week off...well pms can make me too tired to do squat beyond basic life.
When I do workout its everyday. And most everyday formal workout or not is active. My body fat is pretty much minimal for a female. (veins(blek hate these)/abs). But I have a smaller muscle mass. I do not have a thick athletic build.
