I actually like ARC better, with handles. I alternate - ARC most of the time, sometimes eliptical, and usually also 10-20 minutes on the treadmill around halfway through my strength training.
On topic: ARC = handles, always. Elliptical = on and off, I like to keep an eye on my heart rate and the heart rate thingies are on the little knobs that don't move. Treadmill - on and off, depending on how fast I'm going and the incline level at any given moment.
I have been dealing with tennis elbow off and on for a while and I can't use the arms on the ellipticals without pain so I don't use them. I work my arms elsewhere in the gym so not an issue really, imo. When I use the eliptical I alternate with sprint training and mileage but in between sprints I rest my hands behind me in the skaters pose as this helps me practice keeping my balance when I'm not skating. I use the Precor too and put it on level 20 and feel that burn that hurts so good. My legs can take it and it's a great workout. I don't use my arms at all in the cardio area--I work them later.

Hey, I like this idea! I will try this tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion.
