Just curious what tings about the gym annoy you, or things people do at the gym.
I have a few big ones.
-People who do not breakdown their weight once they are done. It's pretty annoying when someone is benching 275 and walks off and the next person has to breakdown the plates.
-People who fill big water bottles up at the fountain. Takes forever and creates a line. Use the sink in the locker room, the water is all the same.
-People who will hog a squat rack for a long period of time. Doing 4 sets of squats, then 4 sets of deadlift then 4 sets of cleans all in a row ties the rack up for a pretty long time.
-People who use the Olympic (45lb bar) to do curls. If there is a pre set bar with a weight you can do, then use that. Unless you're curling a weight that is higher than the pre set bars, then fine.
People who talk on their cell phones even though there are signs telling them not to all over the place.
People who do not re-rack their weights.
People who linger over a piece of equipment while they are talking.
People who do not wipe down the cardio equipment after using.
People who wear fragrance...arghhhh thats a big one. Nothing like breathing heavy and then getting an invading whiff of someone's perfume or cologne.
In the locker room...people who spread out all of their crap over the limited benches and do not offer to move it when they see you need space too.
People who don't clean their machines after using them.
People who try to race you on the treadmill/elliptical machine/spinners.
People who are there with their friends, family, etc. and just watch others working out.
People stationed next to you who try and inform you that you're not using the machine properly (even though you are).
People who sit on the benches in the locker room without putting a towel down...and are neeeked.
Sanitation. You can see nasty grease spots everywhere all over the equipment. Nothing you can do about it, it's just the way it is, but I try not to think about all the crap my head is sitting on when I'm doing bench presses.
I also hate when people using the squat rack to do arm curls. There's 100000 other things you can do for your arms, but usually only one, maybe two squat racks in the gym.

Has it ever occurred to you that maybe people aren't racing you but doing interval training? I run 2 miles at steady speed, then do 8-10 1/4 mi sprints at 11 speed. After each 1/4 I then go back down to 4.5 for about 2-3 minutes. I mean I guess some people could think that I was trying to race them.

Obviously it has occurred to me; however I have had people constantly look at my screen and then at me and then my screen, and so on as if they're monitoring my pace closely (and not their own).
These are the situations/people I was addressing.
I hate when people do aerobics on the basketball court while people are trying to play a game. furthermore, I hate that cheesy aerobic techno music that they while taking up space on the basketball court.
A person who decided to take one the old bars (25lbs) from bench press to one of only two squat racks so he could occupy OL bar, the old bar and the rack, why?
So he could do 50lbs curls, and it was 8pm and the gym was crowded like I've never seen it before.
Otherwise my only pet peeve when people don't put dumbbells back where they belong, so you think someone might be using them.
Beautiful young ladies with perfect bodies sweating it out in skimpy spandex exercise suits making over-the-hill guys like me dream of younger days..
