Here's a video for a little motivation: (the youtube video)
Yeah but can they lift the garbage from the kitchen and take it out to the corner? Or open a jar of sauce? Or fix the leak under the bathroom sink? Or clean the gutters?

Didn't watch the whole video, but at 1:47 that kid is 18 year old Clarence from Ireland (85 Kilo weight class) squatting triple body weight (262.5kg). 5:40 is Richard Hawthorne,128lbs deadlifting 600 pounds.... 6:56, Klokov... world class Olympic Athlete...Surely he'll be getting gold this year. Ever see a 5'5 man (Richard Hawthorne) Dunk? 220lb man do a backflip (most olympic lifters)?
First guy is Stan Efferding... world record holder for his weight class and has his pro card for bodybuilding. He's also a millionaire.
To be able to even work up to that requires a work capacity almost as much as sprinters (obviously not Marathon/endurance runnners since they use a different energy system). One of the guys in there was a competitive strongman competitor. Strongman requires such high strenght, endurance, flexibility and mobility.
Anyways, most of those lifters in there are Olympic Weightlifters and some have medaled in the Olympics. Others are powerlifters in the heavier weight classes (198#+). First guy, has the world record deadlift.. and could most certaily lift the garbage from the kitchen and take it to the corner. . . he could crush a jard of sauce, but he's probably way too big to get under the bathroom sink and might cave the roof in. The last two examples are unfair. That's like saying, "Yeah, but can he fix a car!!?". Apples and oranges.
Most of the people in the video are ELITE athletes and have a higher work capacity, strength and flexibility than anyone on this board.
It's unfair that you criticize world class athletes in such a way.

I'm not understanding your point. If you are asking if they are "functionally fit", I would have to say yes.
Can an overweight or unfit person do all of those things?
