Are there some straight women who are actually turned off by the big muscles, think it's vulgar?

(I don't mean if you're a really famous bodybuilder like Arnold.)

Do you have limitations in buying clothes?
I don't plan to compete - my genetics screwed me in that area, but I train with the big guys who are competing.

My side business is photography; I get a lot of attention from females when I shoot in bars; yes, I get cat calls, butt grabs, bice sqeezes.. Not sure why females think that it's ok, but meh.
Being of larger size, it does affect my business - some female models are hesitant to work with me, and boudoir photography has been a pretty much sitting at the solid 0, unless it was a work for a publication.

Outside the business and my full time job, the attention often times helps.

I have a few clients and friends (and some are bodybuilders, wrestlers etc) who are gay; as to people who think that I am one.. it is their issue, really. Why should I care? The only time I was bullied was when I shot one of the gay couple's engagement session. nothing we couldn't handle.

there are a LOT of women who are turned off by the muscular physique. this baffles me. greatly.

Yes, clothing purchasing became an issue since I started working out with pros. normal shirts - if they fit around the chest/shoulders, are typically rather short, I typically have to get a shirt at least one size larger.
I had to get a new suit a couple of months ago, and I was told that if I gain another inch, i'll have to get suit custom tailored (Jos a Bank).

Pants is also a challenge... as what fits my calves the way I like, doesn't fit the rest of me. So, I am always wearing wider pants..

there can be so many reasons for flatulence.. One doesn't even have to be a BB for this to be an issue. and this is a terrible generalization.

Not everything in life is about looks.
But you've got to agree that this is a very much a personal preference. A good buddy of mine goes apesh!t over the female heavy body builders. To me - and I work with athletes quite a bit - is quite a turn off, and not a desirable element at all. on the other hand, one of my clients has a thing for the skinny girls (not the fit kind), and he finds fit lasses revolting.

you're right, though, even the beach body competitions are now "the bigger the better" mentality, sadly.

I'd rather have some of the bodybuilders I know in ring rather than some of the 17yo kids sparred with!

I define bodybuilder as someone who dedicates their exercise routine to maximize muscle definition and size.(collateral is minimized body fat) The necessary lifestyle regimen to achieve these goals in my opinion consumes your life if done properly. On the other hand, overall physical conditioning done to achieve a high standard of strength and cardio endurance leave much more room for leeway in terms of participating in other aspects of life.

I have only seen two people I would classify as bodybuilders in my gym. The remainder would not meet the standards. You know what I refer to: sub 10% bodyfat combined extraordinary muscle girth where clothing purchases would need to be custom due to muscle development. I do not care for the look but respect the amount of training involved. Similar to bare handed mountain climbing- not for me but impressive.

I think that there are many women who like huge muscles but society says huge muscles are not cool and a great turn off so many will stay silent and will stick to the premise "I like fit guys" publically.

The same phenomenon is observable with guys who like huge muscles, although there is a bit of more acceptance for a freaky look, but from time to time a guy might suggest bodybuilders are gross, sexually unappealing and in order not to be thought of as a freak for liking huge muscles some might want to stay silent and stick to "I like fit guys", too.

I enjoy lifting weights and do a bodybuilding type split routine from time to time, but never did bodybuilding as a hobby or for show.

I am fascinated by bodybuilding though, as are a lot of other guys I presume. I watch a lot of bodybuilding stuff on Youtube. Everything from posing to the workout and lifestyles of bodybuilders. Just the dedication to stick to a certain diet and working out hard, I find fascinating and inspiring sometimes.

That said, the reality of bodybuilding is probably not as 'glamorous' as some may think. It seems so unhealthy now, with the amount of drugs involved. Bodybuilders of today look so bloated and out of proportion compared to bodybuilders of past. I know bodybuilders form the golden age took drugs too, but probably not in the amounts as today, and they took time off too instead of being on it year round. Having to stuff your face full of food 24/7 isn't doing any wonders for your health either.

Plus the side things like prostituting that bodybuilders do in order to make money for their obsession (nothing wrong with that but a lot of other people have hangups about that).

Although I am no body builder and never have been, I am pretty muscular. I have very broad shoulders too, its genetic. I have a hard time finding shirts that fit right so if I got much bigger I would have to order everything custom. I went to Brooks Brothers for dress shirts and the guy measuring me said "thats the problem with you body builder types, nobody makes shirts wide enough without buying custom". I was both flattered and a bit frustrated since I don't mean to be big, I just am!

Anyway, I ended up getting the Extra Large Slim Fit with a 16.5" neck. Its still a bit too wide in the waste and a little too narrow in the shoulders but its the best fitting dress shirt I have ever owned. Point of the story is YES they MUST have issues buying shirts.

Big muscles are a secondary sexual characteristic in men.
Most people will approach you because of the sexual attraction.

I enjoy strength and conditioning training and was an avid lifter when younger, but I could never devote my life to it.

It's a bit of a paradox in that there is really no functional reason to be that extreme about achieving a certain size or look, unless you're being paid for the effort (models, actors, professional athletes, etc.) and your livelihood depends on it. However, to get that kind of paying work in the first place you have to have the right look that makes you the right kind of material to be a "professional handsome guy".

I think most of these guys that make the big bucks in Pro-BB stumbled into it when they were younger and had relatively few other responsibilities to worry about, which made it much easier to devote their life to it. Then the financial success eventually happened for some of the luckier and more talented ones and they were able to make a lucrative career out of it. It's an expensive lifestyle, between the food, supps, drugs, doctor visits. Some guys have resorted to male stripping or even gay porn to support the lifestyle, because a regular 50 hour a week career type job just takes up too much of the week.

I don't know why, but I've been drawn to bodybuilding since buying my first Muscle and Fitness magazine way back in 1986. I loved looking at those freaks, and soon after I bought a basic Weider bench with barbell set.

Been a fan of anything to do with weights, bodybuilding, etc., since then.
