I definitely think it has made me look younger than my age. Quite a few people are surprised when I tell them my real age. My other gym friend gets told the same thing as well.

Do you think working out has made you appear more youthful?

Absolutely on top of the fact I eat very healthy and drink tons of water. And I must add that genetics have also played a good role in it. I also take very good care of my skin.

But working out gets the blood flowing and you sweat out the toxins and flush your skin on heavy workouts. I love working out...it feels so good~

Oh heck yeah, looking at pics from when I turned 30, and I look younger now. Also, from building muscle, it was like I had a "lift," even after three children.

Genetics definitely do play a role though, especially with things like stretch marks (don't have too many, but my mom doesn't either).

My group classes at the gym are mainly with women. If you did not see the faces/graying hair on many of them, you would have no clue what there age would actually be, as their bodies appear much younger due to the working out.

This popped up on another forum that I frequent. Few of the people there compete in master's games (track & field events for people generally over 40). They play a game that involves figuring out competitors ages. The way they handicap is add 10 years for sprinters & throwers and subtract 10 years for distance runners. They claim their handicapping system is spot on.

So if they see someone throwing a shot put and they look like they are 50 years old, chances are they are closer to 60.

I wouldn't go so far as to say it's taken 20 years off, but I look more rested, my complexion looks fresh, I look, move and feel vibrant...confident....and strong! Folks try to pin my age between late 30s and mid 40s and late thirties is quite a bit short of my real age.

So I suppose all of that translates into youthfulness for people in midlife. There's just a lot of good stuff waiting for you when you decide to hit the gym or take up a fitness regimen at home. I'm glad I did!

Genetics play a much larger role but...

Diet, exercise, and lots and lots of sex help. Especially the secks!

Oh yea, most definitely. I'm not extremely musclar but I hardly ever get sick compared to my friends. I don't have any health issues either. I was one of those kids in high school that could pass for 21 in 10th grade. Now I'm 28 and people think I'm 23. So I've aged 13 years and look 3 years older.
