Friday morning, between work and the class I teach, I caught about a 40 minute cat nap in a chair. Something of an "alert sleep" where instead of trying to drift off to sleep, I expand my thoughts into a blank daydream state.
Anyhow, got up from that and found I had a muscle spasm on my right lumber, extending up to right under the ribs. That lasted about till Sunday, which was then join by aches in the right shoulder.
They disappeared about last night but then when I awoke for work Sunday night, the back part of my right tongue hurt like I had bit down on it hard. Still hurts tonight, but not as much.
Two things. First, over the decades, I've been taught, learned not only muscle isolation but also how to accomplish things by getting all the muscles in the body to work together all at once. So when something like the above happens, I guess I shouldn't be too surprised.
Secondly, when there are various aches of one "subsystem" (like my teeth) or another, sooner or later, I realize that maybe I ought to be looking at muscle tension as that may be causing the issue.....and that usually solves it.
