More than 3.5 lb/wk seems to be a bit too much. Less that 1.5 per week is too less.

I'm a middle aged female, and I lost 7 lbs in 1 week. I did Intermittent Fasting (my eating window was 12p-8p, I ate 1600 cals a day and ate whatever I wanted on Sundays (reasonable amount of food in the same IF time frame).

I believe I lost so much because a lot of it was water. Before starting IF I was eating a LOT of carb-heavy processed items, a lot of fried and a lot of salt. When I ate IF style it was a lot of meat (whatever cuts I wanted, not only lean meat) and vegetables, fruit, nuts, oils. Some greek yogurt and half and half in my coffee in the morning.

The second week was 2 lbs, 3rd week 2 lbs. 4th week 1.25 lbs. and so on. I did weight training 3x a week, and walked/jogged 3x a week.

The fatter you are, the more you can expect to lose in the beginning. As you lose fat, your loss rate will slow. That's normal.

Losing more than 3 can cause serious damage to your health. Do not go on roller coaster while losing weight . While losing weight look out for the nutrients count . Go steady and you will be healthy as well as slim.

I found 1.3 pound / week (over 5 weeks) drastic. Had a few dreams of food. But I weighed 124 pounds before. After those 5 weeks, I was ravenous.

Depends how much you weigh and how much you want to lose. When I first started losing weight July 22, 2013, I weighed 365 lbs and lost 60 lbs the first 3 months doing 20 min HIIT cardio workouts on the elliptical 7x per week and eating clean. After the first 3 months I still saw results although not as fast. Today results have slowed dramatically, although partially my fault, and losing the last 75 lbs has been difficult and slow.

It's consistency that matters. You can do it.
