Hi, I'm considering joining a kickboxing studio. Price would be about $119 a month for 8 classes; or $149 a month for unlimited classes with a 6 month contract. Is this overpriced? All they have is kickboxing equipment--no pool, treadmills, etc. Just kickboxing bags and free weights. I've done a week trial and the classes are very good, but it just seems expensive. This gym is in South Florida. Does this sound very expensive? I could join a big box gym, like LA Fitness but the machines are getting boring and there is only 1 kickboxing class per week. Thanks.
I mean, I think that's high myself. You could join Title Boxing for a lot less - and go as many times per week as you would like.
Their kickboxing classes are often offered at odd hours though because the bags are too close together to kickbox when the class is full. (at least at mine).

If you enjoy it, the price is right. While I am not familiar with what is the normal/average price in South Florida, that is about right for a membership here in Los Angeles for an average Crossfit or Equinox gym. If you enjoy it, the price is always right.
I can't find any pay as you go kickboxing around here. Meet-up--maybe. Have not looked into that. It's frustrating. This tiny little boxing gym costs more than my "luxury gym" in Westchester County, which had two pools and tons of classes. And I thought that was expensive. This little place is actually more, on a 6 mo. basis. On a yearly basis it's cheaper but I cannot commit to a year. But thanks Ryu. Will look into meet-ups.
