My one knee hurts. No tears but I think I have burrs that make my knee sore. My doctor has given me a prescription for therapy and suggested 3 places to chose near where I live.

PT here. Don't limit yourself to the 3 places your doc suggested. Instead, ask your friends; if you are older (60+), go to a senior center in your city and ask the folks there; they'll have plenty of advice for you on whom to see. If you live in a city that has a PT program, look up the faculty on the school's website. Those professors often have a "faculty practice" where they see patients, in addition to teaching students.
