'You don't care about their health, all you care about is appearance'
'Don't you think the obese already know they have a problem?'
'All this negativity is only going to cause more overeating'
1. These remarks above are not my concern but more about how our environment to our food chain and it's in-pack on our health, our planet sick, we are displaying it's symptoms and outcome!
2. Yes I'm sure they do! And I'm sure they realize it's not healthy because they feel the effects it has on them personally in their day to day ! The fact more people will require medications etc due to obesity is a clear sign something not right!
3. There nothing wrong with consuming food, in fact real organic foods won't make you fat! But what we have today is not even close to real or healthy and why your hunger! ....The food chain is deadly & sick!
We can't ignore adults/children today are much less healthy than previous generation!
The consequences are all too real for me and my wife. A relative of ours has been in a hospital bed since February suffering from horrible diabetes-induced foot wounds that will not heal. They are morbidly obese and also have congestive heart failure and chronic kidney disease. We have been trying to help them sort out the wreckage of their former life which involved a squalid hoarder-house with no functioning plumbing, a non-running auto with flat tires, and over $40K of unpaid personal bills. Their hospital bills (covered by insurance thank God) are over $300K.
Have they learned anything? Hell no, they are ordering pizzas and burgers online and having the junk delivered directly to their room at the rehab facility!
Think about the consequences for our society and culture if this kind of behavior and outcome is the norm.
Many people think obesity is only in the USA. It's not. It is worldwide, present in many different countries.
I also think many people are addicted to food and eat far too much. The body doesn't just grow obese on it's own. It's due to the types of food and quantity of food the person is consuming.

That's true. And the type of food the person is consuming is directly related to the types of foods in their environment. Food industry has the perfect dream market, they manipulate human drives that they understand very well cannot be curbed by will power or intelligence. Sure there are exceptions but in the broad view, the probability is that human beings will become obese when placed in a sugar-rich environment. And there is a LOT of money to be made in exploiting that fact. Not just the food industry, but the health care industry as well makes untold trillions from the obesity epidemic. The vultures at the top of this pyramid scheme are getting fantastically wealthy at our expense. And we really don't seem to care.

I'm glad you brought this up. Since this is an international forum to some extent, I'd like to know how European health systems treat diabetic neuropathy. I know that in many countries, feet are NOT amputated, as they are in most cases in the US. How do they save the feet, in Europe? What's the treatment? This knowledge should be available to all US diabetes specialists; health insurance companies should require our doctors to get trained in this treatment methodology. As it is now, only a small percentage of US doctors knows how to avoid amputation in cases of foot neuropathy.
I don't understand why such innovations aren't publicized and included in medical school training and Continuing Education training for doctors in the US.
