As a male school teacher who lives far inland and north enough to experience frost in the winter (not north enough for blizzards or more than a few hours below freezing weather at a time, thankfully) I go to tropical beaches on my breaks. I do it partly because I love the beach, party because going closer to the equator helps my mood, and partly because I’m morbidly obese and most exercise hurts my joints, but swimming doesn’t hurt my joints. Something I’ve noticed, though, is I chafe really bad on my upper thighs when I swim, and I’m hoping I can fimd a way to prevent this. I don’t know if its my swim trunks or just because I’m so morbidly obese.

If its being fat, I’ll just continue my keto diet and power through my bleeding raw thighs until I’m thinner. If its my trunks, I might try a nude beach. Do you guys have any other suggestions?

Body glide. You can get it at Target or any sporting goods store.

Body glide might help but being I. The water the entire time it can wear off. Try building up the activity level over time and swim before you go to the beach or tropical location. Losing some weight could possibly help as well

Tight fitting hip to knee shorts. Think of something like bike shorts. I wear these to deal with chafing from the sand at the beach. They’re tight and keep all the sand out. I wear them under my swim trunks

There are certain fabrics that make chafing MUCH worse than others.

Swim trunks that feel more like a tarp are worse for this than trunks made of very soft material. You may find that wearing compression shorts under your trunks will help.
